Guide to Hydrological Practices: new edition by WMO

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has just published the new (6th) edition of its Guide to Hydrological Practices. The Guide now has fewer but broader chapters and is issued in two volumes:
1 – Hydrology: From Measurement to Hydrological Information
2 – Management of Water Resources and Application of Hydrological Practices

The first volume deals with the collection, storage and management of hydrological observations, while the second volume presents the different applications of hydrological knowlegde to various societal needs.

The previous (5th) edition dates back to 1994. It has proved to be a very useful and much sought-after tool for hydrologists, students and the hydrological community at large by providing a good reference to the basic foundation of hydrological measurement practices.
