Analysis and Evaluation of Pumping Test Data (1970)

In 1970, ILRI, the International Institute for Land Reclamation and Improvement in Wageningen (NL) published the first edition of  «Analysis and Evaluation of Pumping Test Data» by Krusemand and De Ridder as No. 11 in the now discontinued series of Bulletins of the International Institute for Land Reclamation and Improvement/ILRI.

In 1990, ILRI publication 47 was printed as the second edition (with updates) of the book, reprinted in 2000. The book is often referenced because it offers an excellent treatment and compendium of traditional aquifer test analysis methods.

This second edition incorporates many changes, including three chapters on pumping tests in fractured rocks. It also presents a more modern method of analyzing pumping tests in unconfined aquifers with delayed yield, and includes the step-drawdown test, the slug test, and the oscillation test. It contains 19 chapters. The first chapter summarizes the basic concepts and definitions of terms relevant to the subject. The next chapter describes how to conduct a pumping test. The remaining chapters deal with the analysis and evaluation of pumping test data from a variety of aquifer types or aquifer systems, and from tests conducted under particular technical conditions.
