The Irish National Committees of the International Hydrological Programme (IHP) of UNESCO and the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage (ICID) have the pleasure to invite you to participate in the 11th National Hydrology Conference to be held on 16 November 2010.

The right to water and water rights in a changing world

Conference on Modelling Hydrology, Climate and Land Surface Processes

14–16 September 2010, Lillehammer • Organized by the Norwegian IHP Committee and the Norsk hydrologiråd. The integration of hydrology and meteorology is crucial for understanding the future climate and its effects on the infrastructure of society. From recent discussion in Norway we see topics like extreme weather, landslides and new demands for renewable energy which are all strongly linked to the hydro-meteorological system.

Workshop on transboundary aquifers

On 29 and 30 May 2007 UNESCO held a workshop on transboundary aquifers, together with the Académie de l’Eau and the BRGM. It aimed to underline the importance of transboundary aquifers across the world and to affirm the interdisciplinary nature of water management as well as the necessity to create a common language between the different disciplines.
